And there was the summer gone!
The last few days of school holidays
Next week everything starts up again
The school run
Walking or cycling
Riding the bus
And all around, others still take vacations
Days of rest and renewal
Days to recharge the batteries and store up energy for the autumn ahead.
In the church we are in full on planning mode
Family days
Community days
Socials and fun events
Acknowledging the harvest
Marking the passing seasons
As late summer moves through to autumn fruitfulness
As the seasons change
We are reminded, again and again
That though all around us is changing
God is constant, unchangeable, faithful and true
Great is you faithfulness O God
Morning by morning new mercies we see
All we have needed, you have provided
Great is your faithfulness Lord God
To each and every one
FOG here in the early morning, a couple of times already...and "the days are drawing in" as well...I'm taking a few weeks' interim ministry out in the country, and looking forward to the harvest landscape. Blessings on you and yours!
