Fizzing - Lent #14

a reflection on John 11: the death and resurrection of Lazarus

(c) Julie Woods 2009

She was fizzing
Hopping mad
Distraught

She’d sent word
Asked him to come
Wished
Wanted
Needed
Felt her heart break in two
She’d wept buckets
But now
Now...

Now she was fizzing
And as soon as she saw him come
Her heart didn’t leap for joy as it had so many times before
Her heart couldn’t leap – it was too broken
So she lashed him with her tongue
Blamed him
Her anger was boundless
And he just stood there
Wept with her

Take me to him
Show me...

Believe
